a message from the supt.

November 4, 2022

Dear North Attleborough School Community,

I hope you had a great week. As you can imagine, it was a challenging one in the District, as we navigated the safety threat at NAMS on Tuesday. As difficult as these situations are, I have to say that I am extremely proud of how the community responded. The school’s leadership team and faculty and staff handled themselves professionally and exhibited a tremendous sense of care for our student body. Our families were patient and understanding. And our students were calm and resilient.

Yesterday, NAMS Principal Brianne Kelleher sent out a letter to NAMS families about school safety. It is an important, powerful message that is relevant to all grade levels and all families. I strongly encourage you to take the time to read it - please click here for the link.

I also want to thank the North Attleborough Police Department, who under the leadership of Chief Richard McQuade, were amazing partners in the response. The NAPD demonstrates every day that keeping our students safe is a top priority of theirs - please join me in thanking them if you get a chance.

Finally, our commitment to school safety and security is unwavering, and while we have made great progress in the past two years with additional training and enhancements to our facilities, we have more work to do. We look forward to working with all community stakeholders as we make the North Attleborough Public Schools the safest place to learn.
