MIAA Board of Directors Meeting Highlights – July 21, 2020

COVID-19 Task Force:  Dr. Keith Crowley, Thom Holdgate and Sherry Bryant presented an update to the BOD on behalf of the MIAA COVID-19 Task Force via power point.  You may view their power point HERE and survey data results HERE.

 

Three Task Force recommendations were presented to the BOD and moved as motions:

 

Motion: The MIAA COVID-19 Task Force recommends compliance with the forthcoming joint guidelines published by DESE and EEA (Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs) regarding fall season and K-12 sports. (K. Crowley /L. von Holtz)  APPROVED  21-0

 

Motion: The MIAA COVID-19 Task Force recommends the MIAA BOD adopt Sept 14, 2020 as the start date for fall sports that are allowed to be played in accordance with the forthcoming DESE and EEA guidelines.  (K. Crowley/B. McCann)     APPROVED  22-0

*This is the start date for pre-season of the sports determined viable to play at this time.

 

Motion: The MIAA COVID-19 Task Force recommends the MIAA BOD convenes a meeting three (3) business days after the release of the forthcoming joint guidelines published by DESE and EEA to discuss the fall season and consider additional recommendations from the COVID-19 Task Force.  (K.
