For the 2024-2025 school year we will be using the NEW IEP documentation based on the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requirement. At the time of your student’s Annual Review Team meeting you will see the NEW IEP documents. Per DESE, “the changes are intended to strengthen the IEP process and improve educational outcomes and experiences of students with disabilities in the Commonwealth…will capture the IEP Team’s determination to individualize instruction, services, and support for each student with an identified disability.” Additionally the updates are intended to make the documents more user friendly for students and families, focus on placement in a least restrictive environment, and strengthen the transition process. We are sharing with you a Sample NEW IEP provided by DESE. As always, you will continue to receive information from the North Attleborough Public School Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC); a welcoming and collaborative group. We also provide annual notification of the Parent’s Notice of Procedural Safeguards which you can access at anytime through DESE at https://www.doe.mass.edu/sped/prb/
