EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR (ESY) 2025

July 7th - August 7th, Monday - Thursday

The Office of Student Services is committed to our District’s mission - in partnership with families and the community, the District will provide a respectful, caring, safe, and supportive environment that actively engages and challenges our students and staff to reach their full potential.  Specifically, Pillar 1 of the North Attleborough Strategic Plan is Success for All Students; all means all students - students with disabilities, students with limited to no past educational opportunities, students experiencing homelessness, students in foster care, students with medical needs, students experiencing food instability - all students who belong.

For the 2024-2025 school year we will be using the NEW IEP documentation based on the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requirement.  At the time of your student’s Annual Review Team meeting you will see the NEW IEP documents.  Per DESE, “the changes are intended to strengthen the IEP process and improve educational outcomes and experiences of students with disabilities in the Commonwealth…will capture the IEP Team’s determination to individualize instruction, services, and support for each student with an identified disability.”  Additionally the updates are intended to make the documents more user friendly for students and families, focus on placement in a least restrictive environment, and strengthen the transition process.  We are sharing with you a Sample NEW IEP provided by DESE.  You may also refer to the Student Services website for past and future parent/guardian training and information relative to the NEW IEP:   https://www.naschools.net/page/studentservices

As always, you will continue to receive information from the North Attleborough Public School Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC); a welcoming and collaborative group.  We also provide annual notification of the Parent’s Notice of Procedural Safeguards which you can access at anytime through DESE at  https://www.doe.mass.edu/sped/prb/
