What is a School Psychologist?
School Psychologists provide a variety of services to schools, students, and families. School Psychologists provide counseling services and social skills training for students who may be struggling within the school setting. School psychologists also conduct assessments and evaluations for students who may be experiencing learning challenges within the classroom. These evaluations serve as a means to gather infomation regarding a student's learning strengths and weaknesses, so that appropriate recommentations and interventions can be implemented. School Psychologists also serve as consultants to families and educators to ensure generalization of skills across settings, and to assist families with accessing community resources.
