• Asking Questions

Questions lead readers deeper into a text. Asking questions about a text allows the reader to have a conversation with the author. If you ask questions when you read, you are awake and interacting with the words on the pages. As a parent, you want to encourage your child to ask real questions about those things that really puzzle them, even when the answers cannot easily be found. Questions show that you’re engaged in the curious about the ideas, characters, facts and themes in the book.
