North Attleborough Middle
School Set I |
"MCAS" has become part of our school's vocabulary for teachers and students alike. Students in grades six, seven, and eight find themselves doing "MCAS-type" activities in all of their school subjects. Parents frequently ask what they can do at home to help their middle school student prepare for MCAS. We hope this provides a little assistance. Capitalizing on the popularity of current game shows, the teachers at North Attleborough Middle School have prepared a series of knowledge/comprehension type questions. These "rapid-fire" questions, presented in game format, will allow your child to review basic information in all subjects from grades six, seven, and eight. Some of these questions were taken from past MCAS tests. Most of the questions reflect the basic end-of-unit facts that students should know. We hope our eighth graders can answer all of the questions! Can eighth graders remember facts they learned in grade six? Our sixth and seventh graders will find questions dealing with facts they haven't covered. These questions in no way reflect the critical thinking skills that our students learn in school. This review is not the "answer" to MCAS. However, we do hope that this review is an enjoyable way for our students to see if they know some important facts that might help them to answer a multiple- choice question or two on the MCAS tests.
